SPACE TAXI (1987 / 2025)
Game Boy Color Edition

Originally released in 1987 by Björn Schneider for the Commodore 16, this long-lost retro gem is now back for the Game Boy Color!

Take control of a flying taxi and transport impatient passengers from platform to platform across 5 gravity-defying space levels. But be warned: your fuel is limited, and only landing safely on a platform will keep your vehicle intact. Crash anywhere else, and it’s game over.

Each customer has just 30 space-seconds to reach their destination, so speed pays—literally. The faster you deliver them, the more money you earn.

Classic gameplay, challenging physics, and pure nostalgia await players who remember the Space Taxi franchise - or those discovering it for the first time.

Buckle up, pilot. It’s 1987 all over again - now in full Game Boy Color!

Also available for download in .CIA format for the Nintendo 3DS virtual console!

Pretty awesome! Thanks :)

Thank You!!

Nice one. A homebrew port based on another essentially homebrew port of the C64 classic by Muse Software.

Could you possibly do a port of Mr. Puniverse?

Thank you for this - this is my tribute !

Thank you so much for your support once again! I laughed the whole way through, because I never would have thought that you could fit 4–5 restarts into just 18 minutes — but you did it. :) My wife, whom I sometimes ask to test things and give feedback, always says that it's easy for me because I made the game and know what to press — but that's not true. :) She usually fails almost everywhere, but since she randomly presses buttons, it often provides useful insights for testing. :) The reason you died on the PAD in the video is because you ran out of fuel, and unfortunately, I didn’t account for whether there’s a passenger in the taxi during a crash from an empty tank. I only handled the case where there isn't a passenger — because then you couldn’t take off, so I take a life. That’s how it is for now. :)

I don't mean to ask, but are the custom covers AI generated?

Hello. Yes, the box art is AI generated.

(1 edit)

People do not like anything AI generated. Thought I'd get that out of the way. Can you consider not using AI for any box art in the future?

100% agree!

OT: Can you do a backgammon game?

There is already an official Backgammon game for GBC, published by JVC.

How about Dominoes?
